1. Water Off
2. Remove both inlet and outlet hoses 
3. With unit free of both connections, undo head by applying pressure and turning anti-clockwise. Extra pressure may be required to unscrew the unit head.
4. Remove head complete with internal tube. Be aware of slight water spillage here.
Empty spent media. This can be disposed of with your normal household rubbish.
Rinse out bottle with cold water. Remove central grey tube from head and place back in the bottle.
Add rec cap (supplied) over the end of the tube. This is to stop new media entering and causing damage downstream on the Scaleout.
Clean top of vessel where head ‘O’ ring joins for seal. Apply a small amount of Vaseline to the ‘O’ ring & head seal to help seal.
Screw head onto bottle after carefully sliding yellow basket over the grey tube. When engaging the first threads of the head into the bottle you may feel a slight resistance. This is normal as it is the grey tube engaging with the head’s internal ‘O’ ring to seal. Tighten to seal.
Re-connect both inlet and outlet hoses. Tighten to seal.

Turn water supply on and check for leaks.
Run water for 2 minutes from adjacent mains tap after Scaleout unit & let the unit stand for 15 minutes with no water being used. This allows the resin to acclimatise to your local water conditions |
